CRA MEMBER BIOWHO IS ELIZABETH BACKMAN? Elizabeth became a successful clothing designer, selling her creations both here in Canada and throughout the States. As a successful business owner and loving mother and wife, little time remained for serenity and balance. At first, she dabbled with a variety of meditation techniques but most recently has turned to Mindfulness through the Thich Nhat Hanh’s teachings. Exposed to alternative healing, while travelling in Hawaii peaked her interest to further explore energy work, in particular Reiki. Reiki provides Elizabeth with yet another tool to appreciate and achieve balance and harmony in all aspects of the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual self. She now has a private practice as a Reiki Therapist and is registered with the Canadian Reiki Association. She welcomes the opportunity to volunteer her time at the West Island Cancer Wellness Center in Beaconsfield. Elizabeth has combined her artistic and healing talents to produce her collection of signed hand painted water tumblers, endorsing facts from Masaru Emoto’s water crystal experiments. Elizabeth Backman boasts a multitude of talents and interests, from her vast business experience to her artistic and creative flair which transforms her oil paintings into healing art. A nature lover at heart, particularly plant life she has studied Herbology, which has been an intrigal part of her life. As a little girl she trailed her grandfather through his nursery business smelling, touching and absorbing the myriad of colors and textures. Her acute appreciation for beauty, colour, lines, shapes and textures propelled her into the world of fashion.
